Menomonee Falls Information

Menomonee Falls is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 32,647 at the 2000 census. Employing 1500 people (As of 2005), Kohl's Department Store corporate headquarters are located in Menomonee Falls. Congressman James Sensenbrenner resides in Menomonee Falls when not in Washington D.C. As a Village, Menomonee Falls has a governing body consisting of a President and a six member Board of Trustees. The current Village President is Rick Rechlicz.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32,647 people, 12,844 households, and 9,299 families residing in the village. The population density was 378.8/km (981.1/mi). There were 13,140 housing units at an average density of 152.4/km (394.9/mi). The racial makeup of the village was 96.50% White, 1.47% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.88% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.15% of the population.

There were 12,844 households out of which 32.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.6% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% were non-families. 23.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the village the population was spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.8 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $57,952, and the median income for a family was $68,952. Males had a median income of $46,861 versus $31,783 for females. The per capita income for the village was $27,454. About 1.1% of families and 2.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.6% of those under age 18 and 2.5% of those age 65 or over.
